Audio-editing handles are broken -- please fix!

In Studio 11.1, the audio-editing handles don't work correctly. You can't move one without Studio automatically creating another in the spot you just moved it from, nor can you delete existing handles. It's a mess trying to edit volume levels in an MP3. If anyone knows a workaround, please post!

    Hi

    Welcome to the forums.

Sorry, but not seeing this behavior here at all. Have you expanded the time line enough to really work on the audio track?

    The behavior here works.

    • Right click on a handle, chose delete volume setting -- it is gone (alternate is to drag the handle to be deleted down and out of the audio track, - left mouse button, drag and drop.
    • Moving a handle, does not create a new handle here.
If the time line is not expanded enough, then the handles are a little slippery Wink and one can easliy make a new one.

Sometimes you can grab the handles and drag them off the bottom of the timeline.  Works for some, not for others.

There have been several threads posted concerning issues with the audio handles.  Here is one such discussion.

justrick, Yes this problem has been around since 10.0.

I find this about half the time when using MP3s or CDs.

I find using the audio adjustment slider in the audio tool box will get rid of the bad handles as you pass by them.

Re: Audio-editing handles are broken -- please fix!

I will follow this one up. With the quality team. I am able to replicate this a number of times with Studio 11.1. I will attempt to reproduce them further with 11.1.1 and 10.7 and 10.8.

Best work around is when things get messy is remove the track and start over, or extend the clip where the crazy handles occur and you will be able to delete the volume adjustments or move them without spawning more unnecessary volume handles.

    Hang in there guys.

    Marc P

We also have problems with the level handles even when the clips are not trimmed. I have had it on WAV and MP3 files.

    Marc,

Was your reply before or after 11.1.2 arrived?

Thats before. I will do some test on my end since I have the 11.1.2 installed. Let me know any other methods you guys use to reproduce the issue.

I am seeing this very annoying problem with 10.7 and 10.8 with the sound effects audio track.
