Help!! My DVD did not turn out right.

I am using Pinn. ver. 12 to make a movie and I got up to the point to make the movie and it only made part of it!  It stopped recording it about 8 minutes into a 30 min. movie.  Any suggestions??  THanks.

One thing you might do to start with:

When making your movie, choose "create disc content but don't burn" (or however that's worded).  You'll have to tell Studio where you want it to create the files.  If the project renders successfully, preview the rendered project right off of your hard disk using DVD-playback software of some sort, and make sure the image plays back like you want.

IF that works, next step is to go back into Make Movie and "burn from previously created disc content" (or however that's worded).  You'll have to tell Studio where the image is that you want to burn, and then you'll see what comes out on the DVD.

Hint:  RW media (which can be reused) can save you from making too many "coasters" while debugging your projects.

If the project plays fine from your computer's hard drive, but doesn't burn "right", you have an issue with burning.

If the project won't play back correctly from your computer to begin with, the problem isn't with the burning, it's with Studio/your project/etc.

Sound like a place to start?

Also:  Any error messages when Studio stopped?  That sort of thing can be helpful.

Lastly:  It can also be helpful if you make a good swing at putting your computer specs (CPU type & speed, OS version, graphics card information, etc.) in your profile.

Could this be a FAT-32/NTFS problem?

Thanks for the info.  The DVD works fine when played on the computer but not when played on the TV.  I will try some of your suggestions.  I appreciate your help.

Thorn, try another TV.  I've made several DVDs that play on some DVD players but not others.
