I have a problem with the Capture program in Studio 14. It only lets me capture for about 20-30 seconds and then the preview screen freezes...frames are dropped and then the video that is captured at that point is just a still frame of video for however long I let it capture. I can stop the capture and start it up again, but the same thing happens. I have tried every troubleshooting trick that I found on this forum and the support site and still can't nail down the problem. Here is what I have:
Pinnacle 710-USB Capture Hardware
Pinnacle Studio 14, Windows Vista Business SP2
Intel Core 2 CPU 2.13 GHZ with 3GB of Ram and a ATI Radeon 1600 Video card with 512MB of Ram
I have two SATA drives, one for the OS and one for the Video Capture. Both drives have been defragged, and I have disabled all the visual effects in Vista. I can adjust the bit rate on the capture to 2 MB and still have the problem but not as often....I have hooked up a USB Loopback adapter and ran tests and the USB bus is functioning just fine. I can tax it hard with great amounts of data and it passes with flying colors. I am in the computer support business btw, so I have tried pretty much everything I can think of....disable anti-virus, killed all processes not needed, disabled the secondary monitor, disabled NIC, checked BIOS for USB 2.0 configuration, etc.
I have been a Pinnacle Fan for years and keep spending money on upgrades....but this problem is frustrating me to the point that I am looking at other solutions. Any help you can give would be appreciated!
Thank You!
