I Have got 10 photos on a timeline and done a pan and zoom with dissolves between..... but when i go to preview it starts playing and then after a couple of photos it goes black.... when i hit the scrubber it shows.

any ideas .

I am playing them on high res.

Do you run with background rendering enabled?  If so, have you waited for background rendering to complete (all of the "green" above the timeline to go away)?

If you do a "File/Delete Auxiliary Files" for the current project, and wait for background rendering to finish, do things settle down?

What some folks tend to do on machines that aren't "fast enough" to keep up with high-def...they edit fairly quickly with background rendering OFF, then when they're ready to review their work smoothly and in real time, they turn background rendering on (*maybe* doing a File/Delete Auxiliary Files), and wait for everything to finish background rendering.  Then, they can review what they've done without hitches or dropouts.

Thanks for your reply.....I normally use Adobe Prem Pro CS4 but the Pan and zoom is so fast on studio....... I have used it before but i have reinstalled it and this is the first time I have tried it sinse reinstalling.

I do know about the rendering  so thats not the problem.

My machine is running as follows :   Intel (R) Core (TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz 2.34 GHz / 4 GB RAM / NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT / Dual Monitor. / Vista Home Pemium.

So I think its fast enough for just pan and zoom with a dissolve.......
