I am using Studio 8.12 with Windows XP (SP2).  I have successfully captured DV video from the tape of a Sony DCR-PC1000 NTSC camcorder and the captured scenes are stored on my hard disk in files “Part 1” and the associated “Part 1.scn”.  In the future, I will capture more video (Part 2, Part 3, etc.) for this movie project.

 

Question:

Now when I launch Studio 8 from the Start Menu, it opens in the Edit mode with the file name “Untitled”.  And the icons from the file “Part 1” are automatically shown in the Album.  Suppose I’ve decided not to use Part 1 scenes or suppose I am launching a new movie project or suppose I simply want an uncluttered Album to help me observe and compare various movie clips.  My question is:  How can I remove those Part 1 scenes that automatically appear in the album?  I’m sure the answer is simple, but I can’t find it.

How can I remove those Part 1 scenes that automatically appear in the album?

By selecting another Clip from the Video Drop-Down or from the empty Folder Icon (Top-Right in Edit Album "Select Video from another Location"), via Windows Explorer. The New Clip automatically replaces the existing one. You can't have 2 Clips Open in the Album at the same time, for comparison.

Anyone-else?  

I have no experience using Studio 8 at all. But from what Colour had explained, it seems to be similar the later and more current versions. So that should help you see your videos that way you want them to.

Thanks to both of you.  I created a second capture file and was able to enter it into the Album and, yes, it did replace the file I previously had in the Album.  I haven't used Studio 8 for a couple of years and have forgotten how to use it.  Now I have another, more complicated question for you; but I'll make that a separate thread.
