    Computer not starting

I bought a Pinnacle 500 PCI Capture card (software version: 10.5) from a friend. I installed the software (after upgrading my XP to SP3) and it installed without any problem. But then I install the card, turn on the computer, and apart from checking the DVD drive, it does nothing else. The screen's light turns from green to orange, meaning it's receiving no signal. The hard disk isn't working either. The computer turns to normal after I remove the card. What could be wrong? Am I missing an update, patch or something?

    Thanks.

    Re: Computer not starting

If it doesn't boot at all, then it's not the fault of drivers or software, it's a hardware fault.

If you move your card into another PCI slot, does the same thing happen?

If it does, then I'd pretty much call the card "broken", and leave it at that.  Maybe.

Yeah, either the card is broken, loose or a BIOS issue.

The only way to find out is to try it on another PC.
