    Files for Broadcast

I have looked for a thread on what type of file I would provide for broadcast but I can't seem to find one.   If some could point to me to one I would be very appreciative.

I am doing my first 15 sec. spot for broadcast and I am needing to know if I provide the station with the exact 15 sec. spot, or do I proved a few seconds of head and tail so that they can que  it themselves?

Also, what kind of file do I provide.   A data file?  Do they like WMV or Quicktime, or does it matter?  Any suggestions on compression?   Last question, should I use Mp3 or wave files for audio?

Thanks to whomever can shed some light!

    Don

    Hi Don,

This sort of information should be provided by the station you are dealing with. Have you asked them?

For example, here in the UK, some broadcasters won't accept any material shot on some formats that they consider "amateur".

    Hi John,

Thanks for your suggestion.   I am creating the commercial from Client produced Photoshop files which are very large down to HD 1080.    I thought that if I asked the station that I would come off as a stooge.  So each station would handle things in their own way regarding how they want to receive the files?
