No Sound with Studio 12 on Win 7

Have win 7 home remium 64 bit edition.

Studio 12, patched up to 12.1 ...all seems fine until I load the tape to copy and attempt import...when i do..I get no sound...Video apparently transfers in just fine...but no audio.

System is a dell XPS 8000
