I have uninstalled/re installed program and its still the same, film/pictures are just blacked out in the top left hand box. My projects load and I can see there loaded but they won't play???? anyone help please

 

Can you provide us with a screenshot of what you see?

Thanks for trying to help, but how do i upload a picture to this email so you can see it? as I can't see a way of attaching a file. all the picture/films are all in there original place on disc and everything is there on the time line some black out even the standard 'ourbackyardcircus.mpg is there but blacked out .. nothing plays... if I find out how to send will do .... if you have email could show you on the web cam

My initial impression is that you have your Nepal STX Project Open in S12 Timeline (Studio's Default Location for Saved Projects is your "My Projects" Folder) , but have S11 Sample Video "OurBackyardCircus" blanked-out Scenes, Open in the Album? (Studio's Default Location for Sample Video is your "Shared Video" Folder). 

I don't currently have a Studio Project. S12's Sample Project "OurFunVacation" has become corrupted. So I've done a quick Test Project, using just S12's Sample Video "OurFunVacation", without any Editing.

The attached ScreenShot shows what you should be seeing in the Album & TimeLine when you Open your  Project.   

ADDED TO MY POST ABOVE:

If I'm right in my initial assumption, your solution might be, to Open your Nepal Source Video into the Album, via the empty Folder Icon (Top-right in Album " Select Video from another location"), navigating to it, via Windows Explorer & allowing Scene Detection to take place. Try that. 

BTW - (And before anyone picks me up on it), ignore the black bars in TimeLine Scenes, in my ScreenShot. That's 'cos The Source Video is 16:9 & I have my Project Preference set to 4:3.

ADDED - Can't Edit my ScreenShot Post. If I do, the ScreenShot usually disappers. However I missed the fact that you've Opened your Project In S11 & not S12 (& presumably created in S11?). My suggested fix remains the same.

Thinking about it and talking to someone at PC World I had an automatic update from Windows which restarted my computer and this is why I had to restart my on going project

Then when I un installed S11/12 and re installed it I may not have re installed S12 upgrade .... but how do I get that upgrade back?? as I have no trace of it (as far as I can see) on my computer?

You may need to contact support If you need to re-download your upgrade.

Hi now have done that .. everything working ok ... at present then going to download S14 if all goes well
