I'm looking for a way to create a fog effect and would like to know if anyone has found a way to improvise a way to create this effect.

Is there any commercial special effect plugin that can be used in Studio to create such an effect??

proDAD's Adorage Studio Plugin has a very effective Fog Effect in Adorage Vol 1. However, it wouldn't be financially viable to purchase the Prog if that's all you want. prodad.com.

The Bravo Studio Pack 2 has a "smoke" effect, which looks a lot like fog. You should be able to try it for free if it shows up in your list of video effects. Of course it will have a Pinnacle watermark on it until you pay for it.

Also, if you only want that washed-out look of a foggy day, you might play with the brightness and contrast in the Studio Plus RTFX video effect.

I can't access my video computer at the moment but if I remember right, try RTFX vol1 and try the fractal clouds option. I had a quick look before setting off a make movie,(thats why I can't access it)

It seemed to do a nice moving fog effect, see if its any good for you!

One quick and dirty way of doing this is to video the sky during a cloudy day.  Put the video on the overlay track and make it as transparent as you wish for the fog density.  Not the best if there is a lot of camera movement in the track that is being overlaid.  Experiment with different clouds.
