    The quest for 40 miles...

    Hi gang!

On Saturday, 9/5/2009, I headed to the coast (San Diego) to see if I could do 40 miles on the bike. I took my video camera on the bike so that I could share my adventure with you on my quest to hit 40 miles for the first time this year... Big Smile Here's the YouTube link:

looks like you've found the UltimateWink panacea for your condition, Jim.Yes

40 miles! I doubt very much if I could get on a bike now. Even if I could, it wouldn't be long before I fell off it.Indifferent

    Great intro, BTW.

So, what's your next target then?

Thanks for sharingSmile However can you cut-down on your Video submissions. I'm leaving undone those things that should be done, hereWink

Nice video ... beautiful scenery. A few years ago, I used to do lots of long-distance cycling. We road across Tennessee, Oregon, and Oklahoma. The most I ever did in one day was 187 miles. It took my legs a couple of days to recover, but my BUTT took about two weeks Wink

I doubt I could do 40 miles these days.

Thanks for the nice replies. I really enjoyed putting this one together and this is a great example of where Studio fits in - when you want to do a quick project but still have some sophistication to it. Cool

BTW - Last weekend, I went back to the coast and did a 50-mile ride! Big Smile

Maybe You & Bob should meet-up on a bike-ride, Jim. Could be a long trip thoughIndifferentWink

When we rode "across" Oregon, we started on the coast, in Florence, and went all the way down the coast into Northern CA. Then we went inland and up to Crater Lake and finished in Portland. It was about 600 miles in eight days. We took one day off.

Here's a picture of Crater Lake. I didn't have a hi-res camera and I had to stitch together to photos to get it all.

Jim, I appreciate your enthusiasm for life (and the video). San Diego is our favorite spot away from home. I could sit and watch the surf for hours! Keep up the good work and keep taking good care of that body!

Re: The quest for 40 miles...

    finished in Portland
I think that's where Gerry (Ghuck) lives.
Here's a picture of Crater Lake
Although we have some stunning scenery in the British Isles, nothing to compare with the wide variety in the US.

    Thanks for Posting the picSmile
