I have just built myself a new computer. Asus M3A78 PRO M/BOARD. The CPU is a 9950 AMD Quad core. The graphics are onboard. I spoke with a friend of mine and he said everything has to be compatible. I believe a need An Express graphics card. Which one I don't know. I am running XP Pro dedicated use is for Pinnacle. I am also running 8gig of ram @ 800Mhz. Hard drive is 500 gig SATA running RPM is 7250. I don't play games on this computer so what would be the best graphics card??????? Can anyone help??? Thanks.

You've posted in the wrong forum to get a decent response to your querry - you should be in Pinnacle Studio - probably General or instalation.

Modern onboard graphics aren't nessasarly a no-go.

I'm not sure what is currently available, but maximum compatibilty would probably be with a top end 256 - 512MB DX9 card. New cards are DX10 now, but a few have driver issues with Studio.

Check some of the profiles of users - some list their graphics cards. I use an (old) nVidia geforce 7600 512mB. If you can find one, it should be very cheap. I don't have any issues with the card, but it's not the fastest around for GPU rendering.

I've just bought a Galaxy 9800 with 512 meg with HDMI on.  It works well and I have no issues with it. I can plug the TV directly into the card.
