In previous versions of Liquid I used to work with the timeline picons automatically updating whenever a clip length was changed, but with Liquid 7 I soon found that changing the length of a clip becomes very jerky when this option is on. Switch it off and the movement becomes as smooth as silk. Because of this with version 7 I have had to work with the update switched off, even though I would prefer for it to be switched on.
In previous versions it has been quite smooth with the option on, but in 7 it seems that the picon is continually updating as I slide the clip edge, hence the jerky sluggish movement. What is needed is the update to delay until I let go of the clip, then it should update just the once.
I did discuss this with somebody on the Avid stand at an exhibition (that was some time ago, when Avid were still involved). We went over to a machine so that I could show him what I was talking about and that machine made a complete fool of me. With auto picon update on, I could slide the ends of a clip smoothly. It seems that whoever had set that computer up had it set up in such a way that the feature worked perfectly.
That now brings me to ask, is there any sort of adjustment to the program or computer that enables me to build in a delay to the picon update? Or some sort of setting that will improve the performance of this feature?
