How to mix video and photos on the timeline pls?

I took nearly 5 gigs worth of video and photos over the w/e, and I am trying to drag and drop it all onto the time line on Studio 12 in the same mixed order it was shot in.

The programme seems to prevent me from mixing these two different medias the way they were shot...it just groups all the video and photos together (albeit in the order they were taken).

I can move them manually of course But this will take ages!

look forward to your response. Thank you.

    Hi Nick

I take it from what you said you want to place pics in between the video footage you shot?

the only way I know of is to put a cut in your video footage were you want to insert the pics then select the number of pics you want at that location by holding down the ctrl key,  then drag them into the time line .

AFAIK what you want to do is not possible. The manual way is the only possible way.

Studio has a Video album that only shows video and a photo album that only shows photos. Even with the video and the photos stored in one and the same folder on your HDD, there are no videos shown in the photo album nor photos in the video album.

Also these albums can not both be open at the same time. But even if that were possible you wouldn't be able to have video scenes and stills automatically placed on TL in the order they were taken.

Thanks. Yes, I want to drop the photos in between other video clips that were taken on the day. So 20 seconds video, then a few pictures as they were taken on the day. I know how to do it manually, but when I view all the images and video clips in the windows explorer folder they are all set out in the time and date of shooting. I am hoping to simply keep this as I move it into Studio. That doesn't appear to be possible based on what you're bioth saying. Looks like I'll have to go manual after all.

    Many thanks.

Understood thank you. That does explain why I can't see all the data in one folder as I can on my PC away from Studio programme.

    Oh well, worth asking anyway.

Many thanks for the swift reply. The programme has been sitting open before I carry on :)
