    Trial upgrade

    Studio Experts ...

I bought the "deal" that Studio had running the past few weeks for my daughter and her new computer and loaded the Trail version, that has now expired, in loading the full copy of ultimate, she gets nag screens to go online and register, by she doesn't have internet is there a way around this?

    Here are my thoughts.

    1. You can not overwrite the trial with the full version so you may need to uninstall it first thru control panel > Add/Remove programs(XP) or Programs and Features (Vista).

    2. Then clean up the registry using this tool. Run it and choose All products and then clean. Run it again and choose User Registration and Activation data.

    3. Then Delete the Pinnacle Folder in C:\Program Files\Pinnacle

Now you can install the Full version.

    Eh?Wink

Trial is same as any other Vendor's Trial. When Trial expires, you purchase an Activation Serial No, via Registration. That's all. That's what OP's Daughter wants to do, but can't, because she doesn't have Internet Connection on her PC with S12 Trial..

There has been a way round this re: similar situations. I think the Forum's Pinnacle Rep Marc P has sorted this-one-out, in the past.

S12 Trial is S12 Plus. S12 Ultimate is S12 Plus, but with 3 additional Plugins.

As far as I'm aware S12 Trial is Download only, so how did it get onto OP's Daughter's PC, in the1st place & how has she got the 3 additional Plugins, without purchasing them?

BTW - Since it seems as though there's a new Avid/Pinnacle Video Editing Prog on the horizon, there should be some Retail Outlet bargains for S12 Ultimate boxed Versions on offer, when that's Released..

Maybe I'm missing something here. It wouldn't be the 1st timeWink

I figured my message would be confusing .. I had a new Dell delivered, and I just Had to set it up and see how fast it was, (I almost kept it for my self) so while trying it out, I downloaded the trial version and then took it to her house ... then a few days later, knowing that she could navigate thur studio, I ordered the  studio ultimate "deal" the had on super sale, and had the software shipped to my house, not a download this time ...

I can attest to that, seems like every time I buy software, a new version come out right away, so with my luck, version 13 or ?? is due out nest week ...

    Re: Trial upgrade

IIRC you can register the copy of S12 online (here is the UK registration page) using another PC; you need her serial number and passport number from Studio and an email address for the registration confirmation.

Upon registering you will receive an activation key for the "Dream Glow" RTFX effect; upon entering that into her copy of Studio it will think that it is registered and the nag will go away.

    Richard
