No - Any Generc "Firewire" Capture Card will do.

Yes.

If you can Capture DV from a Sony Digital Hi 8 Cam? It would have a 4 pin Firewire Conector on Cam. You would need a Firewire Cable with a 4 Pin connector at one end (For Cam) & a 6 Pin connector at the other end, (for PC).

ADDED - Apologies for misplaced quote - Forum is doing some bizzare things recently.

Capture- The Firewire card on the FAQ also refer on the motherboard port.
