I'm having video playback problem (video's edge is cut off TV)

I'm having a problem with the size of my videos on playback.  I fixed this long ago, but when I upgrade to 12 long ago, I started having the problem again, and I have no idea what I did to fix it. Here is the problem: All the sides, Top, bottom, left, and right, are cut of when i put it in my DVD play. If I have text or place a picture in the top left hand corner of the movie, when I play the movie on my DVD play only the middle and bottom right hand corner of the picture or text will show. I have my ration set to 4:3, so it should be just that easy to play on my tv.  I have tried it on other DVD players and TV to the same effect.  The only way to fix this right now is to add the zoom effect to the whole movie and zoom out just a little bit, the rendering time doing this is a pain. Please help me slove this problem.

What is the size of the raw video that you use?

The only place I can look at the raw video size that I know of, unless I should be looking on my camcorder, is in the project pref.  The video is set for 4:3 and is 720x480 at 29.97 frames/sec. I hope this is what you are asking and thank you for your help. Please be patient with me, my computer crashed, I have a new one now, but it is 64bit and I'm having trouble getting pinnacle to work right. I'm hoping that pinnacle will work something out with me since I just spent over 600.00 on effect before the crash. But, I can at least get online now, so should be able to respond fast, just will have a problem testing.  Thank you again., drizzit

Try setting your project preference to 16:9 wide screen, and if your camera shoots in progressive scan choose that, too.  You need to match the native resolution of the videos your camera shoots.

Re: I'm having video playback problem (video's edge is cut off TV)

Is there a difference between sitting your camra to 16:9 and still using SD HDD sitting?  I can not view movie in studio that I record in HD HDD mode. I had to convert them to SD before I could view them or do anything with them. I have a great camra for home users. I'm using the Sony Handycam HDR-SR12 with the built in hard drive.  I find having the hard disk on the camra awesome for me, the only down side is that studio doesn't directly support sony file types. So, I have to copy the files to my computer then open that way.  Trying to find out why I couldn't view the videos recorded in HD HDD mode, i was told that there wasn't a conflict with my camra and studio, that it was that I didn't have the capability to play HD or needed a blueray dvd drive. I don't understand what that means yet.  I will also set my camra to progressive if its not already and see if that makes a differance.  thank you again for helping me, Drizzit.

What video type does your camera record to? Does your camera record in HD(high def) or SD(standard definition)?
