Okay i've tryied google, I've tryied Jeeves i'm really at a losse because anyone whos asked about it dosen't get a reply back

    I have a Dazzle DVC 100

When I record in S-Video it looks sketchy and is in Black/White instead of colour -_- any fix for this?

Composite works fine it's colour but S-Video I would "Assume" would just give is a little extra clear image.

Could you describe what is connected to what by which cable? What software you are using? Which input you have selected in the software?

okay i'm going to type this AS I perform the actions

    1. Plug in Dazzle DVC - 100

    2. Plug in left and right stero red/white (into DVC-100)

    3. Plug in s-video and Composite Video plugs (into DVC-100)

    4. Open Pinnacle Instant DVD Recorder in Windows Vista 32-bit OS

    5.  select source " Dazzle DVC-100"

    6. Click Options

    7. select these options below

    Video Input: Video SVideo

    Video Standard: NTSC

    Audio Input: Dazzle DVC-100

    8. Power on my Device plugged in to show

    9. appears alittle unclean and black/white

    10. go back to step 7 and choose

    Video Input: Video Composite

    11. Video is now color with this option selected

Now the question is, does the DVC-100 even support color from the S-Video. Is it just there as another option if really needed?

Do you in fact have a proper S-video source or are you generating the S-video signal by way of a converter?

Do you in fact have a proper NTSC device supplying the S-video signal - iow not a multi-standard device?

    1. Is this cable supplied as original with the Sega?

    2. Is there an actual  S-video socket on the Sega? (I dont have one of those and cannot find any detail connection specs on the device)

If there is no S-video socket on the Sega then you cannot get S-video information from it as the chroma signal is missing when you passively convert (simple cables) from composite (AV) to S-video.

    3. Plug in s-video and Composite Video plugs (into DVC-100)

I'm in foreign territory here as I don't have a DVC-100, but that statement reads as if you are plugging both the composite and S-Video plugs from the DVC-100 into the same device (the PC?) at the same time. My question would does the DVC-100 allow you to use both outputs at the same time? I know that on some equipment, using both ( or just having connections to both) at the same time can cause color problems. Have you tried one at a time?
    Just an idle thought.

An internally broken s-video cable with give exactly this effect. Also, unplug the yellow composite plug.

Studio and IDVDR takes only one Video input source at a given time. Maybe removing the RCA video plug will take care of the problem.

Don't know if you have an answer yet (10/29/09), but, it seems to me that for both of your "input" sources (audio and video), you should select Dazzle DVC-100.  That's what I've been doing.
