Time Stamp on HDV Footage in Pinnacle

This I think is a well known issue, but I haven't found an adequate solution.  I have a Canon HV30 and when I transfer HDV footage to my computer and view it in Pinnacle, unlike with my old SD camcorder, there is no date/time stamp on the scenes (i.e. when the video was taken).  I found a tool called HDVSplit on the web which can read HDV and break it up into files labelled with their date/time stamp -- but the files are in H2T format which Pinnacle will not read.

Does anyone know of a solution to this?  Is there any program that will read the footage and display the date/timestamps (I can then at least view them and add date/time title overlays to my Studio video).
