usb does not recognise dazzle dvc 170

    usb does not recognise dazzle dvc 170

    i hope someone can help me with my problem  i  have started a project where i convert vhs home movies to dvd i have been using pinnacle studio plus and dazzle dvc 170 which converts analog video to digital i have been converting old 25 year old video to nice edited dvds .....great  but out of the blue my dazzle has stoped working  when i plug in the usb cable to the computer i get the following message (your device will work faster if u plug it into a usb 2.0 port )but all my ports are usb 2.0 i cannot transfer my video to my computer via dazzle i have tried it on both my laptops both usb 2.0 and i get the same message i cant undestand what is wrong  if someone can help me i would be very gratefull  thankyou

    This error message may be a sign of a USB device malfunctioning and the fact that you have tried it on 2 different computers it may be a sign of hardware failure on the DVC's part. How old is your DVC 170? Maybe it's still under warranty? You may need to contact support about this.

    This should have been posted to the the Studio Capture. I'll be moving it there.

    thanx for that mark  its about 15 months old  not sure if i only got 12 moth warranty... how do i contact support ps sorry if i posted in wrong place

    thanks for responding to my problem mark... im in fife abot 20 mins from edinburgh  i tried live chat at pinnacle support but they just told me to reinstall drivers which i had already done i agree with you i think the problem is with the hardware

    You may need to contact support again (via chat / phone) and inform them that you have an isolated hardware problem. Is your DVC over a year old? If not you may still have warranty on it and could probably get it RMA'd.
