Dazzle DVC 170 issues XP Pro

Running XP Pro, Box processor is Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60 GHz (2 CPUs); Memory 1016 MB RAM; Display is Intel 82945G Express CHipset Family, 128 MB Memory, Software is Pinnacle Studio 10.7.

I have a Studio PCI MovieBoard installed on this system but because it doesn not allow for sound capture from a VCR, I bought a Dazzle 170.  The first few times I tried it everything locked up.  I uninstalled the software and reinstalled it.  Now I can start capture with the 170 but get nothing.  The system doesn't lock up but neither does it capture any video except for one small part of a picture then it stops even though it says it's continuing to capture.  Once I stop capture, it says it is unable to open the clip.  I need some help here as I'm getting ready to start a video class here at my school and I've invested quite a bit of money on these devices and cannot resolve the issue.

Huhh? You plug the sound output of your VCR into your sound card/chip input on your motherboard...... and you should be able to capture sound. I believe there are a small number of computers that don't have a line in socket. Is that your problem?

As for the Dazzle, I wonder if it is struggling with your graphics chip. First thing to check is you have the latest drivers for your MB and graphics card.

Are you able to select the DVC 170 as both Audio and Video capture source in Studio's capture settings? Try the latest driver release for the DVC 170. Maybe that can help. The drivers can be found here.
