Title with spotlight shining through the text

I would like to use a title with a white spotlight (or sunshine) with the light source moving across the screen and the rays shining through from behind the text. Any suggestions?

Can it be done with the standard Title Decko Pro package and/or the effects that come with Liquid, or do I need some other software?

Bluff Titler can do this kind of effect with ease.  The program is about $40 USD.  There is a tutorial of how to do this in their forum.  I am at work right now, the website is at outer-spacesoftware.com I think.  To be sure you can google bluff titler.

    Hope this helps,

    Denny

In general--no.  A program that supports volumetric lighting is needed.  Examples would be After Effects ($$$$), Blufftitler ($), ProDad ($$), Boris ($$$) and others.  You can do somethings with TDPro by creating a title with a heavy border around each character, and keying out the center color to allow a layer below to show through.  Unfortunately, it is not a complete solution.  You can key out the center of the character to allow a laver below to show through, but it will not project through.  If you wanted light beams or particles, etc. to protrude through the character or to eminate from it, I don't think that TDPro and Liquid can do it.

There's also my favorite piece of freeware, Blender (2D/3D animation application). This supports true volumetric lighting for spot lights. There are a couple of examples of volumetric lighting on my website:

           Example 1
           Example 2

The videos showing the @ were done in Blender. The other was done in AnimationShop 3 (which came with PaintShop Pro at one time).
