I did install the Alparysoft Deinterlaced filter and tested the video clips - nothing has changed. Since the complete clip is nou rendered by Pinnacle, the complete clip has been affected - flickering at the top.
Why is it that when I preview the clip in Pinnacle (I have a second monitor for that), I don't see the flickering effect at all? I even went and played the auxiliry files in a video player (both the M2V and DIF versions) and I could not see the flickering. But as soon as I export it as and AVI (DV) file, the flickering appears.
Somehow it appears that the Pinncacle DV codec is responsible for this flickering. As I said previously - when I export it as AVI MJPEG or MPEG-2 the flickering is gone.
My question is: how can I get rid of this irritating flickering which is quite obvious in 16:9 productions?
This is how I dealt with it in the past: I create the AVI (DV) file, use Sony Vegas to resize it slightly and the export it again to AVI (DV). I stay with AVI (DV) to keep the hires details. Once that is done, I create a new Pinnacle project and use the "resized" AVI file for the final production with the DVD menus, etc. The trick then is NOT to do any changes to the AVI file otherwise Pinncacle will add the flicker again. This is quite cumbersome. Alternatively I could create a black border at the top/bottom - to make the flickering not so obvious. But I don't like to remove content - I want to maximize the final product - if you catch my drift.
