Have you tried using other DVD installer on your Gateway? Maybe this would help:
1. Start > All Programs > Accessories > Run.
2. Type msconfig and then OK.
3. Click on Diagnostic Startup.
4. Click on Services tab.
5. Look for Windows Installer and check that box.
6. Click on Apply and then Close.
7. Restart and try installing again.
You may return to Normal Startup after installing Studio.
