How do you select a section within a clip (on Timeline) to cut/remove/delete? The clip is in Timeline, the beginning scenes are fine and the end scenes are fine.  However, in between there are some scenes I want to remove.  I know the trash can is used.  But how do I select (like painting a part of a sentence in a Word document to cut or delete) that part of the clip to cut?

One way:  "Cut" the scenes that you want to remove so that they're separated from the remaining video, then delete those scenes.

Scrub to start of scene to remove, click the razor icon.

Scrub to end of scene to remove, click the razor icon.

Click on the scene you wish to remove to select it.

Click the "trash can" icon to delete that scene.

Lather, rinse, repeat until done.

To designate a segment for deletion, place the scrubber at the beginning of the choice, then click the 'razor' icon, located just under the preview window. Place the scrubber at the end of the choice and again click the 'razor' icon. Click on the segment to select it, click the trash can and the segment will disappear from the timeline.

Considering that this is one of the very fundamental tasks in video editing, I would suggest you spend a little time with your manual to become acquainted with some of the features of Studio.

Thanks a bunch BittMann and Don. I have been spending a lot of time in the basic Pinnacle Studio 10 manual plus Jan Ozer's book.  I was stumped when the manual said "Select the asset you want to delete."  I could not find the explanation of "selecting the asset," even though I know it meant select the clip or scene but how to select was my problem.  However, after you providing the "how to," it is clear and makes a lot of sense.
