Hi, My name is Steven and I recently started using Avid Liquid after a refferal by my friend.  I often see other people using a background video as their menu background! can this be done in avid? can I use a .avi file and set it as a background and still have chapters as a regular menu!

You can make transparent background to your menu and add the .avi to the video track below the menu track on the timeline.
