    Idea [I] PCTV Feature Request

Post features that you think should be included in the next patch or version.

When you post, inlcude your PCTV hardware model and the current software you are running on.

    Smile

Fix recording scheduling so that consecutive programs can be scheduled.  This means the end time on one can be the same as the start time of the next.

Currently if  I attempt to do this, a time conflict notice appears. Currently there must be a one minute gap between scheduled programs.  It seems unlikely that something so obvious would be a design oversight.  More likely a programming bug.

(Note that sometimes consectutive programs scheduled from the epg, rather than manual, will schedule with same end and start time.  But this happens only when the first is mpeg2 DVD format as specified in setup, but the the second, contrary to setup,  is added as mpeg2 default format.  If the second is edited to mpeg2 dvd, the conflict notice appears. This intermittant behavior further suggests a programming bug.

Possibly related to the previous post.  It would be a work around for the bug mentioned in the previous post.  Add capability to schedule to the nearest second,

Note that in the programming guide pop up box the duration for recorded or scheduled programs is correctly displayed to the nearest second.  However manual record (which is the same function as editing a previously scheduled prigram) does not allow times to be entered to the nearest second, but only to the minute.

    Re: PCTV Feature Request

    And more ...

A fix for the audio out-of-sync error (that annoying half second or even up to a few seconds audio delay usually when recording TV) - many forum members have complained about this.

A fix for the remote control's light sensitivity (I can't get my remote to work at all, but when it did in the early days I like many other forum memebrs noted that it kept starting to record stuff for no apparent reason).

More controls on the remote - or more editability of controls. For example the 'skip forward/backward' functions, swapping between PIP displays, open/select new file to playback.

I find annoying that the default location for recorded programs is a sub-folder (\Video) ... why can't I open straight to where the programs are recorded?

DIVX codecs that use/match or at least properly update any already on the computer. I really hate it when I record a program, but can't play it back.

And what the heck is a .pmf? Get rid of these annoying little space wasters.

Edit manual record option - If I click 'record' on a live stream, I'd like to edit the session, so as to automatically stop in (eg: 65 minutes), and then do a shutdown of my computer. This would also allow filenaming and even the creation of a schedule (eg: weekly).

Intelligent recording. If I tell the scheduled sesison to shutdown my computer on completion ... but a different schedule is still recording - wait until the other session is finished rather than killing it mid-stream. In fact the whole "shutdown on completion" needs a complete re-working. How about an "Abort Shutdown" button on the shutting down now screen? I know there's a workaround, but why not build it into your program? And you could have all the shutdown.exe options available with minimal programming (hibernate etc).

The ability to see scheduled recordings without having to start the whole program (schedule view from the TVCenter Pro Starter icon?)

File association - why can't I double-click a recording in Windows Explorer and have TVCenter startup and commence playing it?

It'd be great to see some feedback from Pinnacle on all the options requested here and in other posts.

Hard & soft: 310i (Hybrid PCI) and TVCenter Pro 4.94.1637

A long desired feature: resizing the image in full screen mode. With 4.99 you can zoom but always inside the video window. Please... it should not be so difficult Confused

Also, you could add more functions to the remote: audio stream switch, switch between TV and Radio,... Or a simple way to change the functions of the buttons.

WinXPsp3, 4Gb RAM, Intel mb and NVidia card

PCTV Dual Hybrid Pro PCIe, TVCenter 4.94.1637

It'd be great to see some feedback from Pinnacle on all the options requested here and in other posts.

I'd like to see an existing feature start working. The  "Check for updates" button in Settings has never discovered a new version for me ... despite the forums being totally focussed on the 4.98 and 4.99 releases. Don't release new versions if they aren't meant to be used.
