    Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

Not long ago I bought this Dazzle Video Creator:

     http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dazzle-Video-Creator-Platinum-PC/dp/B00191BHT2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=software&qid=1222015154&sr=8-1

I also bought these with the Dazzle, Double Ended Audio Cable: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-Audio-Cable-Triple-Yellow/dp/B0002AFT9A/ref=pd_bxgy_sw_h__img_b

And 3 of these AV Splitters: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-SWA3553-Audio-splitter-shielded/dp/B000O10OME/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1222015315&sr=1-7

I have all the equipment set up right, in the correct colour slots and everything. Then whenever I go in Pinnacle Studio 11.1 to Capture it always say's "A Valid Input Signal has not been detected. Please check all cables". I have changed the Capture Source to Dazzle DVC 100 and changed the settings to PAL and NTSC, but still nothing. Also, whenever i go into Windows Movie Maker to capture, it freezes as soon as I click on capture, then when I disconnect Dazzle it unfreezes itself.

Please can anyone help, I don't wanna know ive wasted my money.

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

There is a new version of Stu 11, it's 11.1.2 and available here.

    I would try that first.

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

Thankyou for replying, I have downloaded this and restarted but still the same old message. Im wondering if my PC cannot hold this, however it reads the Dazzle so it must be the Studio which isn't working. I have tried everything but still nothing :(

Hang-in there until Pinnacle Reps Marc P or Mon Roy return to the Forum, after the week-end. Those of us who don't have Dazzle, leave it to them to sort-out Dazzle probs. They're the ExpertsWink

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

Do you have your setup like this?

Video Device  ------>  Splitter ---------> Dazzle
    (Xbox, VCR etc)             |---------------> TV

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

That is the correct that I have, but now I am getting the singal problem aswell.

My wires are different, but they still do the same job - As a friend uses them with his Dazzle and they work fine.

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

The problem is fixed thanks to Bryan D.

You need to update your Dazzle buy downloading the correct driver here: http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Dazzle/Dazzle+Video+Archiving/Dazzle+Video+Creator+Platinum+Support/Download+Area/Hardware+Installer+-Drivers/Hardware+Installers.htm?mode=documents&Display=1

This should then stop the Dazzle from freezing up WMM and AMCAP. You now capture in WMM using the AMCAP method and then editing it in studio. It's alot easier if you get the error message, I can record in Studio now but it's sound from the TV is lagging so I just record in WMM or turn the sound off.

Hope this helps you like it did to me.:)

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

Right, I am now at what can only be described as my “Wits End”.

I have sorted out my Display Adapter and I have also downloaded the 11.1.2 Patch, but I am still no further ahead with capturing with my Xbox 360.

It can only now be the wires.

This is my best description of my set-up, so please bear with me.

    Right, here goes.

1: My Xbox 360 is plugged into the back of my TV, now the wires that go into my TV are the following

Blue, Green and Red (I think red, it is wall mounted and I have to take it down to confirm, which is a 2 man job as it is a 46” monster)

On the same Xbox wire are 3 leads that are not used which are coloured as follows:

    Red, White & Yellow

I say I not used, the Red and White wires are plugged into a spliter to create an additional output/input for my surround sound.

So if possible can some, please be kind enough to talk me through the process of wiring my dazzle up.

I have tried the following wiring set-up, with no success.

    Dazzle Plugged into Laptop

White / Red (Sound) on Dazzle are plugged into the Red / White wires for my Xbox (The spare cable which is used for the surround sound)

Yellow Xbox wire plugged into my second lead.

Please note I DO NOT plug my additional Red / White wire back into Output/Input Splitter for the surround sound.

My I try to capture, I get the following:

    1: No Preview Screen

2: Invalid signal, please check wires

This was my 2nd wiring attempt

    Dazzle Plugged into Laptop

    1: No Preview Screen

2: Invalid signal, please check wires

Here is a link to the wires I am using: My Wires

My reason for believing it is wire based on this Guide

On this Guide, please schroll down to Picture 9 - it will show the wires plugged into the dazzle, my problem is the additional wire from the TV into the Sound and Video connection on the dazzle.

I am so desperate for help with this, as I have been trying for over a week now and it is not funny anymore : (

So in Summary, I need the following:

    A Step by Step Guide

    Confirmation on Wires

    Confirmation my wires are ok

    Please, please help.

In reagards to the Drivers, I used a manufacture Update.

Check the end of the this 6 plug cable on the part that connects to the back of your 360, what is it set to (HDTV or TV)?

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

At the start of the 6 plug Cable - IE When you plug it into your Xbox 360, you have to flick a small switch for HD or TV - I always change this to TV and not HD.

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

Leave the RGB cable connected to your TV's component input. Try disconnecting everything and test if you can for the Dazzle to capture from the xbox solely, Just to test it.

Try it this way. Remove all splitters, any extra cables.

    1. Connect the Xbox AV cable (set to TV and not HD)
    2. Connect Yellow, Red and White directly to the Dazzle.
    3. Close and Relaunch Studio and go to Capture tab ans select the Dazzle from the capture devices list. Make sure you its set to accept feed from the composite input.
    4. Boot the 360.
    5. See if you get an image.

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

Excuse me butting in on this. Been having the same problem with no valid signal check cables. Followed this thread and installed the new driver. Still getting the same message but there is a preview window. OK the message and can start capturing with both composite and s-video. Tried Windows Movie Maker, picture but no sound. While trying to solve the problem I uninstalled Premier, Nero 7 and Roxio. Can I safely reinstall these programs or is there any clash. Thanks

So you mean, with just the cable to the dazzle it still doesnt pick up?

    Terry P,

It should not have any clash.

Any chance of trying out the Dazzle on another computer? This should isolate the problem if its a problematic device.

Hello i have recently just bought dazzel platenium dv100 and i too get the same message as discused here invalid input check your cables, i type this into google to find out if anyone else has had same problem which led me to this forum. so when i just installed the everything studios etc everything you get with dazzel,  nothing happened just a blank preview screen and msg saying check cabels.  I aslo tried recording with wmm and this just took forever to load through the screens then adventually crashed. i then followed all your instructions i have downloaded that patch and tried every single posiable way to connect my leads up. since downloading the update wmm no longer freezes up but no preview or audio and doing it through studios i just get sound no picture  i have tryied doing it through compersite and s- video i have tried doing it straight to the dazzel so my xbox lead connect straight to my dazzel but still no joy i do appologise but i am extremly challenged when writing and hope that what i have wrote makes sense, please help me

I have i have a simiilar problem, i an in Ireland (UK tv settings), I have this setup, cable from xbox is split with 3 female to male to splitters which are hooked into the TV and into the second female slot I have plugged in the dazzle cables to my laptop. Neither WMM or Studio can pick up the signal but AMCAP can and is showing in colour when I change to SECAM-B. I have a dvc100 rev1.1 and I have the latest version of studio. What am I not doing right? Please help

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

As what has been discussed about the DVC 100, it can't handle PAL 60Hz signals from the 360 does not work with Studio and WMM and IDVDR. Amcap is your best bet to do colored captures for PAL 60.

    Re: Dazzle Platinum Help?!?!

are  you sure you can use Studio or WMM with dvc 100 on this video it seems to work http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QK42K06dEhs

The fact that this is sold in PAL region and does not work with pal 60 is not good enough

i can get the picture on amcap but the capture does not seem to work, do anyone have any tips for how to setup the capture for AMCAP?
