ok so lets say that my disk is damaged and wont read, or my laptop just simply wont read cds of any sort. Is there a way that i am able to download a trial version of studio 10.5 and then put in my serial number that came with my package and upgrade that trial version to a full version and then install 10.8??  if yes, can anybody link me to the download..?

this is just because my laptop wont read cds anymore and i dont really wont to invest anymore into it when i will be getting a brand new one within a year

If you have a network established, you could copy the disk to a folder on your sisters pc, then transfer the folder to your laptop.  I'm pretty sure that would work.

how exactly do you copy a disk to a folder..?
