    Vista 32 and Liquid

Thought I'd share my experience so far with installing Liquid Pro Bob on Vista 32 Business for a client.

CPU: xw8600, single processor (soon to be dual), dx10, 3gigs ram

    nVidia Quadro FX 3700

This box was going to be XP sp3, but after some issues with an internal raid, I went for the Vista upgrade. I followed the posting about Vista installs (thanks, VERY helpful) and ran into little trouble.  The main items that popped up:

When logging into Liquid, it would always show an error that I wasn't a power user.  I had to set my desktop shortcut to run as an administrator.  I thought that was odd since I was an admin account, but it still needed that.

Renders showed the green bars.  It was necessary to run the DX10 service pack for Liquid in order to get it to render correctly.

Short of that, things are running and it quite snappy at that. Smile  I was able to burn a dvd, do multilayers, long captures...all without a problem.

I'll post if I run into any show stoppers, but so far, Vista 32 Business seems to be working well.  Has anyone run into any issues that are reproducible under Vista?

    Thanks,

    Jamboaz

Do you have UAC turned off ?

Yes, UAC is disabled.  That is what struck me as odd, too.

Have you created your own user profile or are you logged into liquid as a default user.

Logged in as default user, no other user accounts created within Liquid.

Create an account and see what happens

    Re: Vista 32 and Liquid

This just became a moot exercise unfortunately.  The client complained about issues with Vista.  Said when they moved audio around in the tl it would not behave as expected, moving it in the wrong direction and 'fighting' them.  I played with it and couldn't reproduce the issue at all.  At this point I'm going to roll back to WinXP sp3 and see if the client is happier with the performance.

    Thanks for the help,

    Jamboaz
