    Soon 2B LE 7 newbie

Back in 2003 I purchased LE v6 (disc says 6.1) it was an upgrade from Studio 9, but never installed it because I didn't have the time. I pulled out the box recently and started reading the HUGE reference manual and played disc2 "uncovering Liquid Edition" with tutorials,etc....(great job Mike Shaw!) Needless to say my interest peaked and I purchased LE 7 upgrade from LE 6 since I do have a liscensed/registered copy. I was planning on doing some sort of backup of OS drive before installing but I need some advice as to which version to install. My system is very clean with only Stu 11ult,12ult, Nero 8, FantaMorph, Endital2. I'm not familiar with Liquids install/unistall procedures regarding upgrades (i.e. if you had LE 5 did you have to uninstall it before installing 6 or does it uninstall previous versions). I'm thinking since I've purchased upgrades should I just start with 6 then upgrade to 7? I'm just trying to avoid the "uninstall/reinstall scenario all together. I can't wait to get into "Liquid"   Thank You

    Harvey,

The first thing that I would suggest is to read the "Troubleshooting ..." guide by Dave Stone (here: http://forums.pinnaclesys.com/forums/post/46364.aspx) which outlines all the steps required to upgrade and install Liquid.  Since you already have Liquid 7.0, I think that downloading the full installer version of Liquid 7.2 is the way to go.  You don't need to have any previous versions installed, just have the 7.0 serial number handy when installing 7.2.  Follow the instructions in the "Troubleshooting ..." guide mentioned above and you should be good to go.

If you have problems, by all means come here and ask.  We have all gone through growing pains with various versions and can help you to learn to "swim" with Liquid.

I am sure you will enjoy your Liquid experience.

And look for a by-pass procedure in this forum to get Liquid activated.

But if possible: I would not like to have Studio and Liquid in one system. The install of Studio has sometimes caused troubles for Liquid/HFX. Re-install of Liquid over itself, solved that (in most cases).

    Sef,

LewS has posted that the Liquid activation server has been fixed and works as intended as of this morning!  Yes Big Smile Beer

Thanks once again Igor & Sef! Plenty of reading to do. I'm not the shy type so if there's anything that stumps me I'll certainly post back.
