    Importing Video.3g2 from cell phones

I would like to edit videos taken by my Samsung U900 cell phone and put them on a DVD. The video files are recorded on a removable micro SD card in a .3g2 format which I can't seem to import into Studio 10.7. Is there any way to convert a .3g2 file to one supported by Studio (e.g. .avi, .mpeg, etc).

A quick search came up with to passable solutions; Purchase software and a free over the Internet conversion. Never used either one of these, but they claim to be able to do what you want, both will convert to mpeg which studio can work with.

THIS is free and should do it. The download link is at the bottom of THIS page

Both converters seem to be fit for the job. I'll see if I can find some good 3G2 files so I can test the quality of the output.

To Ghuck -- Thanks, I tried the ZamZar on line conversion program and it worked fine.

To jjn -- Thanks, unfortunately there are 3 programs listed at the bottom of the page and I don't know which one to use. I'm a little slow on figuring things out and would appreciate your specifying the program you are recommending.(especially the free part)

To Mon Roy --  Thanks, to what two programs are you referring?

To Mon Roy -- I don't have a good sample to send -- just a 10 sec flic for checking out converters.

To jjn -- Thanks, the video format converter you suggested works just fine (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html)

Re: Importing Video.3g2 from cell phones

    Mon Roy,

I appreciate your offer to test further but my problem is ignorance -- I know what an FTP site is but not how to establish one. Is there some other way to send you a video file?
