It seems any type of recording that I try (any quality to either iPod or USB Thumbdrive) seems to have bad interlacing artifacts. I am trying to manually archive shows from a Scientific-Atlanta DVR using the Composite video signal. I even enabled the "hidden" 2.5Mbps rate and that did not help at all. Is there some setting or firmware update? I just got this new from Circuit City a few weeks back so I am going to assume it have the latest firmware. 

Basically the video quality is horrible to watch and I am think of taking it back to the store for a refund.
