I saw a similar post but the poster was getting a title, they just thought that they should be getting more.  In my case, I'm not getting any titles.  I've used Studio's DVD import feature for several versions and have never had any issues with the DVDs that I had created.

However, since upgrading to S12 I get no titles at all.  If I click on the audio folder it gives me an error saying that there are no DVD files in the root directory.  When I click on the DVD or its video sub-directory I do not get an error but I also don't get any titles listed either.

I used DVDFab 5 to copy the DVD to my hard drive.  When I click on that directory it correctly displays the title and I'm able to import it.

Any idea why I'm having trouble with S12 importing titles from DVDs created with Pinnacle?

This is a new one for 12, the only thing I can think of so far is doing a clean boot to see if its caused by other startup items or non ms services.

I've re-booted, I've removed the software, I've cleaned registries, I've re-installed, I've killed all of the background processes, but no change.  No titles.

Are these DVD titles from Studio 11 or older? Could you try rendering the sample Project that comes with Studio 12 and make a Video_TS out of it and try to import that in S12. I have done this and could not replicate it the way you described it on your initial post. Keep me posted.

Hi Marc and thanks for the response.  Yes, the DVDs that I'm trying to import were made with s11.  If I make a new DVD with s12 it finds and imports the titles ok.

I suppose this means that I'm the only one having this problem?  Perhaps it has something to do with my I/O Magic optical drive.

Since I found a [pretty convoluted] work-around -- copy with a different application and then import from the copied directory -- I can at least avoid recapture along with the oos sound issue.

I'll keep poking around and will post what I find.  I'll also keep looking at this thread just in case you come up with something.

This program copeis the DVD contents and creates a virtual DVD drive, right?

What happens if you copy the actual Video_TS folder to the Hard Drive and import from there?
