After downloading and unzipping the 12.0.1 files, installation program returns the following error:

 “Error 1311. Source file not found:

c:\users\...\ApplData\local\Temp\temp2_Studio_US_for_ULTIMATE_12_0_1.zip/Studio/Data1

Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

Retry    Cancel”

Clicking on the “Retry” generates the same error. Clicking on “Cancel” generates “Rolling back action”.

I manually checked data1.cab and the requested file was there. I am getting fed up with being forced to do Beta testing for Studio 12 Ultimate for the last seven days. Your tech support is so incompetent. Their only solutions appear to be the following ones:

 “DVD may be scratched”,

“Delete temp files”,  

“Rename destination folder”  and

“Install in SafeMode”

Nothing else. Come on. If you sell your product, provide Tech Support that will go beyond those generic responses that are disrespectful and irritating.

Anyway to test install this on another computer? Burn the Studio 12 downloaded file and test install it on another PC. Try rightclicking the file and choose "Run as an Administrator".If it still fails on another computer try re-downloading it as it maybe corrupted.

At my tries to install S12Ultimate-Upgrade the InstallShield complained about corrupt Data1.cab

Looking with a decompression programm at Data1.cab showed that there are fewer files than specified at the properties of Data1.cab

I  guess that my virus scanner had destroyed the cab-file.

After switching off the supervision of incoming files and reextracting the files again, all was fine... 

 

Will you let us on the secret? Which AV was it?

Thanks for the name drop, I'll look into this. I have also experienced a similar case, though its not directly related to Studio. I have AVG delete cab files on a downloaded software so I know this issue is possible.

I am having this exact problem...windows vista computer, attempting to install the program on my external hard drive.  I don't have an AV on this computer and have disabled Windows Defender and Firewall.  Any suggestions?

It turns out that the data1.cab file isn't actually there......so I'm at a loss as to what I can do now.  Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried redownloading it?
