any ideas on good cam training material

I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some training books or dvds for camera work. I need to improve in this area as far as knowing iris, exposure settings, white balance and the such. Just want to take an extra step in improving on my cam work.

You might try digitaljuice.com and click on the DJT ln DVD.  They have a number of tutorials about various aspects of videomaking.  There might be something of interest to you.

I like Adita video tutorials (I learned the basics of Liquid and Photoshop from them) and they have a 4 DVD tutorial on how to shoot great videos and another one on how to shoot weddings. Give that a try.  Link: http://www.adita.com/

Check out the BBC UK web site on training.  (http://www.bbctraining.com/television.asp) Much of the stuff is free.  They do have training for fee also. (I'd love to find something like this in the US!)  A couple of years ago I stumbled over this site and a series of camera specific working guides they had put together.  I had a VX2000 at the time and their guides helped me achieve a marked improvement in my video. (the big key: get out of automatic). There's also some mini-courses on production techniques and equipment.  Apparently, the BBC put out this material as they apparently allow the use of prosumer camera for some broadcast work.  Even if you have something else, alot of the info should be general enough.

You should also look at the Videomaker magazine web site--they have a series of DVDs that each address the topics you identified.  I don't know how good they are as I haven't used them.

Thanks everyone, I have seen some DJ stuff. I might buy a few of the DJTV series. I forgot about videomaker. A friend of mine subscribs with them.  I will too. Thanks for the website Steve. I will check it at. Once again thanks everyone.
