    Idea [I] Animating pictures

Hi!  I'm using Studio 11 Plus (11.1.2) and have been using Studio for a while (all the way back to 9).  But, in using, I probably have been only doing the basics of what this can do.  I was wondering if someone might be able to tell me if I can animate pictures to roll like video?  Let me clarify:  I am working on a project from a recent vacation.  The project has movie clips and picture jpegs.  I was looking at a series of shots I have of a sunset (probably about 30 pictures, super high quality from my DSL) and wondering if I could animate them to look sort of like a flipbook or something.  Or, if I can't do that, wondering if I can animate the string of pictures to run like a movie instead of looking like a slideshow.  Don't know if either of these ideas is possible here and won't lose sleep if they are not, but just wondering since I haven't even scratched the surface of the little fun things in the program.  (I am more inclined to put my video and pics in, put in transitions and music and menus and run with it that way.)

The simplest thing to do would be to insert dissolve transitions between the pictures. The pictures will all meld together. I did something very similar with a sunset before and it turned out (if you ask me) rather nice!

Thanks for the suggestion--I do like the dissolve transition, it makes some stuff look pretty cool!!

You can also shorten the time of each slide and use no transitions between them.  Downside is it makes for a shorter video.  Looks sorta like a time delay video.  Try about 1/2 second slides and adjust from there.

For the "flipbook" animation, perhaps some peel transitions?  Or an HFX 2-D effect?

    Re: Animating pictures

Thanks again for the suggestions guys.  For the one set of sunset pics I used the dissolve and set the pic time to just over the transition time.  It looks pretty cool.  Then for another smaller group of sunset pics from a different day, I did the same timing with an alpha magic cover transition that makes it look like a smooth flipbook.  All great ideas!!

Tried those in a project of mine. Simple but the effects are dramatic and looks great. Nice tip guys. Pinned. Wink
