    Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

I'm really very very annoyed, every time i look for an updtae of TVCenter and install it on the PC something Wierd happens and that too from Pinnacle's END ... :(

I've earlier installed TVCenter 4.98 version for my Hybrid Stick 330e, but that didn't worked well, i did not got any Sound using that version.

Now, I waited .. long to get this update (TVcenter 4.99) and that too specifically for 330e Stick. I thought this WILL definitely Work on my PC. My coniguration is:

Vista Ultimate x64 SP1. using Pinnacle Hybrid Stick 330e.

Now, I downloaded from above location specified in this post, and used my CD Key from the 4.94 CD I got, and then I installation went fine, BUT BUT BUT ... now what should I say, whenever i try to LAUNCH TV Center pro from Desktop, i got the SAME CD KEY Box to enter the CD Key, i enter the One I entered when installing it, but it SAYS the Entered CD Key is WRONG everytime.

Now, what DO YOU GUYS WANT ME TO DO, I COULD NOT EVEN INSTALL AND USE AN UPDATE that is meant for my card I have.

Why do you always want to be on UGLY SIDE? Is this becoming an habbit for Pinnacle, I really rated the company way beyond the way 64-bit support has been provided.

Please guys tell me what should i do now?

Why do you want ur software to be so secure that NOW you want us to enter Serial Key Twice and that too different each time?

    Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

What are the new features in these new versions? I've got a 3010iX, and according to your web site (click here), I should still be using v4.9.1 (although I've actually managed to find a v4.9.4 that seems to work on my card). I keep seeing these new versions coming out for the Americans or whoever, and I'm wondering what it is I'm missing out on?Sad

AW: Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

@vc4u: please contact Email support, so they can create a new serial for you. Normally, this should not happen. Anyhow, the serial is needed as it contains information about the featureset of your product.

@PJF: if you're not experiencing any problems, there is no need to update.

Re: AW: Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

Why 4.99 is ONLY available for USB sticks? I have a 310i PCI and I really would like to use the new version because finnally, after many many many many years waiting, it has zoom feature so I can hopefully get rid of the black stripes when using a 8:5 screen... Are you planning to release it for PCI cards? Please...

AW: Re: AW: Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

you can try this version as a BETA, which means: it's at your own risk and you can't contact support if you ran into an issue.

Re: AW: Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

I have installed it and it recognizes perfectly the Hybrid PCI card and it seems to work as it should. I mean "as it should" because the new zoom feature does not work as I expected. It just zooms the image but it does not resize the window. So it is completely useless for me...

Ok, so let me explain what I thought it would be. I have a  8:5 wide screen. Almost all DVB-T streams in Spain are 4:3. When they broadcast a 16:9 film (or other panoramic format) the still use the 4:3 ratio adding the famous black stripes above and below. If I use the new zoom feature, the image just zooms so the sides of the image disapear. It does not resize the video window, so what I get is a resized 4:3 image with the sides croped...

If I choose an aspect ratio of 16:9 (or free ratio) the image does not maintain the aspect ratio. Instead it is streched from 4:3 to 16:9. So, in the case I was exposing (a 16:9 film over a 4:3 video stream) the whole image is streched with the black stripes. It is impossible to just crop them while maintaining the image proportions.

Please, for future releases, think about all the users with wide screens (more everyday) that cannot just zoom the image to take full advantage of the screens.

By the way, the 4.99 release is as stable as 4.94a with the hybrid PCI 310i, as far as I have tested it.

is it possible, that your TV provider does not set the flags for the picture size correctly?

    Hi fjavierc

What windows system are you using ? XP ? Vista ? vista64 ?

What memory size do you have ?

Upto now I also waited for a veryveryvery long time for something working from pinnacle for my hybrid pro 310i

Upto now I only succeeded in having about every other kind of app to run with this card on my vista64 (even MCE), but it NEVER succeeded with pinnacle soft.

Re: AW: Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

    I am using XP SP3. Intel core 2 Quad Q6600, ASUS P5Q (intel P45) and 3GB of DDR2-800.

But I had to install 4.94a again because there were some issues with 4.99 and 310i. For example, after some minutes (aprox. 30) with a DVB-T TV stream tunned, suddenly the OSD appear with no reason and I have to restart TVCenter... Also PCTV Remote sometimes changes from IR setting to COM... Finally. if I change between DVB-T channels quickly, sometimes the image freezes in one channel and I have to close TVCenter and kill VideoControl.exe process.

Little issues but enough to go back to the previous version. I hope the Pinnacle team will come with an official release for 310i shortly.

Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

efaehndrich: I am sure they are not setting those flags correctly. They always broadcast in 4:3 format no matter what they are showing... I have also noticed that one TV station is broadcasting a TV series in what I suposse is some kind of surround sound, because TVCenter detects 2 audio streams as if they were 2 different languages, but in one stream I hear the regular stereo sound and in the other one only some music and sound effects. Is TVCenter capable of detecting and playingback surround sound like Dolby Digital in DVB-T?

AW: Re: AW: Re: AW: Re: TVCenter Pro 4.99 released

if there are i.e. MPEG and AC3 audio broadcasted, you can choose the stream you want to use; assuming these streams are correctly transmitted.

Maybe that's why it works for you, you're running XP, I'm using vista64 which is upto now still NOT supported by pinnacle.

I guess I'll stay with vista mediacenter and all other apps that DO support the 310i. (vista MCE64, chris-tv, cyberlink powercinema, whatever else I tried WORKED... )

Weird that after all this time pinnacle STILL doesn't succeed in getting it running on an x64 system while apps of others DO without writing specifically for this card Confused

Check for my other posts how I managed that, I even got the remote working under MCE.
