I upgraded to Studio 12 Ultimate from Studio 11 Ultimate and had no problems with the application for about 2 weeks. I went on vacation over the past week and tried to fire up S12 and the splash screen is stuck on 12%. My laptop was off and unplugged the week I was gone and nobody else has the password to log on and use the laptop. Any ideas on how to correct this?

One possibility is that you laptop has defaulted to a power saving scheme (even when plugged in to the mains?). I've read that Studio doesn't behave too well if the machine is throttled back to save power.

If the above doesn't fix it, a "Repair" Install might (Insert Prog Disk & choose "Repair"). Does in S10, with XP & with same prob.

12% is that when pixie tool starts? If so, try killing the process using task manager.

If all that fails you could try a system restore to just before you left on your trip.

Thanks guys. The repair process seemed to be the ticket and Studio 12 is now opening again. However, I do use the Sleep function a lot on my laptop and this might be part of the issue. From now on, I am only going to start S12 after a fresh boot. Thanks!
