I tried to update my Studio 10 version to 107 so I could run the 10.8 patch, too, but every time I run the install, I get a Wide Patch, Catastrophic Failure, and it stops.  Better yet, when I try to run Studio again, I get an error that ResCom1024.dll can't be loaded.  Based on the only other post I could find via Google about this, I tried running the install in safe mode, but I get the exact same error.  Is there any way to restore Studio so I don't have to completely install it again?

If you have Windows XP:

Insert S10 Prog Disk 1 & choose "Repair". Insert Prog Disk 2 (If you have one), when requested to do so. Ignore the request to Insert "Bonus" Content DVD. Reboot & If S10 is Installed ok, Update to S10.7 "Light" Patch for Versions 10.0 to 10.5. "Full" Patch for 10.6. Don't Update to S10.8, which is primarily for Vista Users.

I did the repair, and I'm able to get in again.  However, looking at the download page, I see two patches: the 10.7 one that I tried to run that hosed my PC, and the 10.8.  I don't see a "Light" Patch anywhere.  Am I missing something?

Neither do I. In fact I can't find any S10 Updates on this new Forum. I gave-up a long time-ago, trying to Fathom it out.It was so easy on the old Forum. Maybe someone-else can direct you?

In the meantime, go to: www.romskye.com You should find S10.7 "Light" & "Full" Patches there.

I've seen another recent Post re: "Catastrophic Failure", but can't find that, doing a Search. I think it may be rfelated to left-over Registry entries from Pinnacles InstantDVD Recorder. Unfortumately you can't use Pinnacle's RegDelete, 'cos you've done a "Repair", rather than a "Reinstall". 

If you didn't do a "Custom" rather than a "Typical Install", when you 1st Installed S10, you will have Installed InstantDVD. Check ADD/REM PROGs & Remove it. Also Remove Pinnacle's Mediamanager/Server. You don't need it & it's a PC "resource-hog", before you Update to S10.7
