Auto-Exit Studio when Make Movie is completed

I'd like to see a feature that lets you automatically close Studio when rendering and/or burning and file saving is complete.  I render and burn a lot at night while I am sleeping because of the several hours involved.  I use a program called PurgeIE that deletes things like temp files, cookies, all kinds of histories, etc.  It has a switch that lets you run the program and shut down the computer.  I created a batch file I use in conjunction with Windows Task Scheduler.  When I render and/or burn a movie I set the task to run 5 hours after I start the Make Movie process.  The process works fine, but the next time I open Studio I get the message that it wasn't closed properly.  Not a big deal, but it would be nice if there was a check box next to "Eject disk" in the Make Movie settings that closes Studio when the Make Movie process is completed.

IMO what would be more a more useful feature (especially for those rendering from AVCHD source) would be to "shut down the computer when 'make movie' is finished". My take on how such a feature could work would be something along the lines of:

    (a) A tick-box would be added to the "make movie" window, somewhere near to the "Start/Cancel" button.
    (b) This tick-box could be toggled on or off by the user at any time before starting or during the "make movie" process
    (c) If the tick-box was checked (enabled) at the time the "make movie" process ended the PC would shut down. However before shutting down Studio should display a "cancel" box for a few seconds so if the user is at the PC and doesn't want to shut down after all they have the ability to stop it.
    (d) If the user did not cancel the shutdown, Studio would be closed cleanly and the PC shut down.

IMO just auto-exiting Studio and using another tool to shut down the PC is too risky; you'll alawys face the possibility of Studio taking longer to render than you thought and the tool shutting the PC down before Studio is finished Sad

    Regards,
    Richard

This feature now exists in S12. See KB

Cool!  Now the night time is really the right time for rendering movies.  Much better than using a second program too, for the reasons stated.

I used a similar feature in another application. Unfortunately the 'I'm going to close down' option didn't work when the app. threw up an error (while you were asleep). Instead of the App. just writing out to an error log and shutting down, it insisted on sitting there waiting for you to do something for hours until you woke up.

I'd be interested to know if you forced a render error part way along the time line in S12, does it still shuts down?

I don't hink there can be a feature that will turn off Studio or the whole computer when the program errors out.

Can't the power configuration of the PC do this?
