Hi,
I've setup my router to only let specified devices in looking at their MAC addresses but I have problem with my ShowCenter 200G which doesn't seem to have a MAC address?!
When looking in the router logs I've noticed the ShowCenter with a MAC consisting of only a number of zeros and when going into the LAN setup in the ShowCenter the MAC address field reads EMPTY. Does anyone know how to have the ShowCenter represent itself using a valid MAC address?
Thanks for any input!
Hi, if you are looking for the 200's MAC...
At the boot up menu....
Press B on the remote handset,
Move RIGHT to IP CONFIG MENU,
Press OK
You should now see the MAC address.
Thanks but I already looked in IP CONFIG and that is where the field for MAC address reads EMPTY instead of an actual MAC address and when looking in the logs of my D-Link router ShowCenter shows up with a MAC address consisting of nothing but a number of zeros.
Any other idea why my ShowCenter doesn't have a valid MAC address anymore?
Wow, thats obviously very bad, sorry I have no idea. I assume that the MAC is pre-programmed on a flash device somewhere on the pcb - not sure how that could be erased...
Maybe a reflash required? (doubt it though)
Yep...bad it is.
Not sure but I wonder if it could be SwissCenter beeing the guilty one here, have been using that instead of the default ShowCenter software since I went from XP->Vista since I never was able to have them work together.
I will ask the same question in the SwissCenter forums and see what that gives, thanks though for your input!
