I am getting ready to build this years video editing system for the high school football team I volunteer filming for and am considering using Vista 64bit as the O/S.
System will have a Intel DP35DPM motherboard, Q6600 processor, 4gb DDR2 6400, 1 Raptor 150 hd for O/S and Rendering, 750gb SATA for storage, ATI 2600 HD w/512mb ram and will use the onboard sound in an Antec 900 case. Processor will be cooled by a Zalman 9700 and Video card by a Zalman VF1000. I know the video card is a bit antiquated, but it is a proven performer for AVCHD editing which is what I will be doing.
Another question, after the games, I need to get all of the AVCHD video converted to SD ASAP. We are talking upwards of 250 10-18 sec clips between 2 diferent video cameras. I use S11 for editing the videos for the coaches reviews such ad keeying in on a particular player or a perticular series of plays, but I need something that is speedier converting to SD that S11 is. Is NERO fairly fast at performing this function? I have read on here that serveral people have recommended it to use for just that.
Any input is appreciated...
