    Transparent Video Overlay

Hi.  I'm using Avid Liquid 7.2.  I'm trying to 'see through' one clip to another or 'mix' two video clips.  I know in other programs there's a line (like the audio volume line) on the video clip that you simply pull down and, presto, you see 'through' the clip to the one below it.  At a certain adjustment of the line, you can make a lovely 'mix' of the two clips.  Then you can also make the line to simply mix in and mix out (like fading).

I'm trying out a CPU 2D Clip Effect, which is okay, but I'd like to be able to produce a 'straight line' between the key frames.  If I make two key frames, I get a curved line between them and I want a constant, 'straight' one.

Any ideas how best to do this?

    Seamus.

This is simple. In the 2D editor, right-click on the line in the graph and choose "Linear". The default is "Bezier" which adds smooth curve control points. You can also modify the Bezier control points to get a straight line, but changing the interpolation to Linear is easier.
