Studio 12 installation problems (priviliges to memory)

Ok so I recently bought studio 12 plus and downloaded it from the website. But when I go to install it I get a prompt saying it has "insufficiant priviliges to acess memory" how do I change this? (I have vista ultimate, 32 bit, I am also logged in as administrator during the whole prosess)

    Welcome to the forum!

Also congratultions on the first error/bug report for Studio 12.

I don't have an answer for you. But hopefully, this reply will keep it at the top of people's screens and someone else can answer.

Does it give nay other info? What are your system specs? What video card are you using?

Have you tried right-clicking the install-file and selecting "Run as administrator" ? I'm running Vista Home Premium (32bit) and while I'm logged in as an administrator some programs still require this method of executing a file. I haven't been able to try Studio Plus 12, just ordered it moments ago...but I don't recall having any issue's installing Studio Plus 10 a while back. Hope this helps.

That would be my answer also if he is running Vista. I have had a few programs where I had to do this even though I log in as Administrator. Back to XP Pro where I have no problems.

Now... if they "un"backorder S12 and ship it out to me....

Strange. Are you the only user of this computer? Does your user account have administrative rights? I have installed this on many Vista systems and in different ways and have not gotten anything similar to this error message.

Try making a new user acount with Admin rights and try the install again.

Even being the "administrator" of the computer requires the right click method for some programs.  Why?  I don't know.

Running as a "Standard User" and logging in as an Admin only when required has been the recommended Microsoft way starting with NT.

Certain critical (as deemed by Microsoft) changes to the system are allowed in Vista by making even an Admin logon again.  My understanding of why was to prevent lowlifes from changing things when an Admin account was being used - for example executing code behind the scenes in a browser.

Like it? No!  More secure? Probably some.

This has been around, its more prevalent in Windows Vista. Its Microsoft's way of making accessibility more secure and complicated at the same time.
