The offer we all received via e-mail says Studio 12 Upgrade.  Will I need to keep Studio 11 to load Studio 12 (as most upgrades work) or is this a complete version whereas it does not need to verify that I have the Studio 11 disks?

This question has already been answered several times. So, once again - it's an upgrade offer, you don't need to have a previous version of Studio on your PC, but you must have a disk from a full version at hand to verfiy that you qualify. At some time during the install process you will be asked to insert the full version into a cd/DVD drive so that it can be checked.

Or ISTR some Pinnacle hardware installed?

It's interesting to note that when both the 10 and 11 versions were released, the full version hit the shops weeks before the upgrade version was actually shipped.

I can hear the complaints already....
