    EPG serial number fiasco

Hey group. After several awful experieces with the live chat support, I thought I'd check in here and seee if I can get some assistance. I have the PCTV HD Extreme stick. I have updated the software to the latest beta software, version 4.94. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and tried to run the Program Guide configuration dozens of times with no luck. I always get to the "EPG service trial key - service setup" fine but then the program seems to try and communicate to get a key but then stalls there. It goes no further. The knowledge base setup says at this point:

    7. You will then be given the expiration date of your trial and a license key. Click the next button to continue.

I never get to this step. I have done two online support chats (worthless) and sent e-mails with no response. Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks

If you are in the US please try updating to the newly released TVCenter Pro 4.98 update.

Please let me know how it works out for you.

    Re: EPG serial number fiasco

I was all set and running fine, until I ran the updater.   It asked me for my serial number again.   Normally this wouldn't be a problem, except I am at work and my CD is at home.    Now I have no way to capture the video that I was supposed to capture for the project I'm working on.

There should have been a check in the installation to not require the serial number again if it's not a new installation.   This is really putting me out of commission.

    Re: EPG serial number fiasco

I have a PCTV HD Pro Stick (801e) and I just ran the 4.98 update.  When I configure the premium EPG, it has a license number entered, but it says that it expires 1/1/0001 12:00:00 AM.  When I click Next, it does step 1 of 4, but then I get an error that says "Error connecting to server" when it goes to step 2.  I did not have this problem before updating to 4.98.  I have deleted the license number and cancelled out of the configuration, but the number comes back when I go back into the configuration.

I just got a PCTV HD Pro Stick today, and I am having the same problem as lefty12 above, "error connecting to server", and the expiration date for my 1  year trial is also 1/1/0001.  I did update the software to the new version (that took 3 attempts).

    Re: EPG serial number fiasco

I too am having this same problem. I'm trying to uninstall the 4.98 update, reinstall the disc and see if the code is the same or different. I will get back to everyone once I do this.

I'm having the same problem. I've sent an e-mail to Pinnacle, but it sounds like I have little chance of hearing from them. I've only had the Pro Stick for 4 days!

AW: Re: EPG serial number fiasco

which premium EPG are you using, TitanTV? This is a 3rd party application, so you should contact their support.
