    Idea [I] This product uses no or an invalid Product ID. Please reinstall the software - Solved

    i have a problem with my dazzle dvd recorder. when i finish to install the studio 10 and install the patch 10.8 . it show me this ""this product uses no or an invalid Product ID. Please reinstall the software". I tried to reinstalled like 6 times, but it didn't work.  thank you

    As what Patricio and I have talked about through PM about this issue. It can be easily resolved by doing the steps below.

    1. Download the REGDELETE program, click on the link below for the REGDELETE program, after downloading run the REGDELETE program and choose STUDIO 11/10 on the product, try it about two times, then restart.

    2. Run again the REGDELETE program and instead of choosing all product kindly choose the USER REGISTRATION and ACTIVATION DATA.

    In my case the REGDELETE program in several re-installation did not help.

    The STUDIOLOG.txt file shows:

    ....Drive I, CDROM.
    DirectX 9 - version is 4.9.0.904
    DirectSound driver certified
    DirectDraw driver supported
    Current language is English
    Loaded OEM custom resources for QuickStart
    Serial number: unknown
    Missing or invalid Pixie Product ID
    Closing log file 'C:\Users\Public\Documents\Pinnacle\Program Files\Pinnacle\Studio 10\programs\StudioLog.txt'
    What sould I do to install Studio 10 and make it work?

    This doesn't work for me either. The stupid thing is that it will let me install Studio 10 with the key, but as soon as a I try to run the update with Vista it tells me my serial number is invalid. Is there no fix for this, because I really want to use my Dazzle as soon as possible.

    After countless reinstallments I deleted everything that smells Pinnacle and Studio. Then cleaned up with a disk and registry cleaner. Only then the "program" Studio 10.5.2 asked me for a serial number and begun to install itself.

    But when it presumable finished, it was henging forever and Task Manager was telling that program is running. After I've got sick of waiting I begun installing Studio 10.8 not paying attention on the thing that was still in the window. The same hapend to Studio 10.8. Now both insallation dialogs were in the window, and the only way to get rid of them was to end the task in Task Manager.

    Then I try to use the Duzzel - Hurrrray it worked! I've got a file on my disk!

    I opened Studio 10.8 - it doesn't recognize the file I duzzeled in a moment ago. Other vidio files in TS, avi and DivX formats was not recognized also. But in this case the program demended to download (for "only" 20 green ones) a pack of codec's wich I have in my computer downloaded long ago: AC3, DivX and more!

    Now, is there anybody familiar with this software to give a clear answer how to force this thing to work?

    Hello patricio,

    I don't know if you figured out this problem, but I had the exact same issue and in the end I solved it like this...

    1). Uninstall & Delete EVERYTHING related to Pinnacle. Use the "RegDelete" Marc P. mentions too. Use the "all products" selection. Then go to your C drive > programs folder and delete the Pinnacle
         folder as well. You'll have to open your task manager and stop a "USB.exe" process that is running. But, be sure to rid your computer of absolutely all of it. I'd also suggest using C-Cleaner and clean
         out your Temp. files & Registry with it. C-Cleaner is free to use and download: http://www.ccleaner.com/  -   I'd highly recommend CCleaner - it kicks butt!

    2). Next, re-start your computer, load the Pinnacle Studio Quickstart disc and then install the program on there.
          IMPORTANT
    ... Use the serial number on the back of the package it comes in.

    3). I didn't bother registering the product - I just hit the remind me later option. Next, I went to the Pinnacle website and grabbed the; "Version 10.7" update. And, lastly installed that. 
         And, finally, re-started the computer on last time. It all works perfectly now. 

     
    I believe that the problem lies in Pinnacle's "Instant DVD Recorder." software installation. They recommended you install it first in their instructions. However, it seems to
    corrupt the Studio 10's Serial I.D. if you install that program first. On my re-installation, I never bothered with the Instant DVD Recorder program at all. I was only after
    capturing the video off of an old camcorder I own with the Dazzle unit. After all of this crap, I don't think I will bother risking an install of the Instant DVD Recorder program.

     Everything works 100% - Hope this Helps You & perhaps others too!
