On the subject of compatibility, check out this thread on bit-setting your dvd writer. I was having some compatibility issues with a couple of players in our home and a specific type of printable dvd's. Using +R's and bit-setting the discs to DVD-ROM has solved it for me. They play on every player I've tested them on.
