    news report styling

I'm looking to add an news style effect in a video. I want bullet style points in a box and a ticker tape rolling at the bottom. Is this possible? What are the easiest ways to accomplish this? I want it to basically resemble a news report style, ala Fox News or CNN.

    Hi, serialfish.

I'm no guru, just a relative newbie, like yourself. There are probably a miriad of ways to achieve this effect in Studio and maybe others will offer an alternative. I'm aware of one at this point in time. Use the Title bar and set it to Crawl. Standard Studio feature. There are a couple of limitations though. I don't think you can easily insert dot points, I'll stand corrected and I'm not sure if you can include crawling graphics.

However, there is a workaround for the dotpoints. Compose all your stuff in Word, where you can also Insert Symbol. Not all symbols but enough to give you flexibility.

Copy your text and paste it into the Title Editor. Highlight then format your text but be sure to select a style that has a background to it, otherwise you won't get the effect you're after. Try a few things. Then select Crawl and make sure you select the position you want it to crawl over the screen by clicking on the little noughts and crosses box at the bottom of the screen. Click ok. Now drag out the Title to the length you want and let it render.

If you want to edit or replace your crawling text you can either do it in Studio or in Word, but if you do it in Word you'll need to copy and paste the lot.

Also, have a look at this site for some good tutorials; one of which refers to the use of Word for inserting titles.

    I hope it helps. Smile

    Dan
